What We Can Fix

Over time oil tanks and their associated pipework suffer wear. Valves and gauges fail, oil lines develop leaks, and water or sludge can accumulate in the tank, causing boiler problems or complete system failure. Early intervention is far less costly than emergency repairs.

Valve & Gauge Replacement

Faulty or seized valves and inaccurate gauges are safety hazards as well as inconveniences. We replace single and bunded oil tank valves and gauges with quality fittings, ensuring your tank can be shut off quickly in an emergency.

Water & Contamination Removal

Water enters tanks through condensation and poor seals. Over time it settles at the bottom and creates sludge that blocks filters and damages boilers. Our contamination service involves:

  • Pumping all contents out of the tank
  • Tilting the tank to ensure full drainage and removal
  • Pumping clean oil back in
  • Retesting the system
  • Flushing contaminants from connected oil lines

Oil Line Supply & Installation

Corroded or leaking oil pipelines are a serious environmental and fire risk. We supply and install new armoured oil supply lines from the tank to the boiler, ensuring correct sizing, routing and fire-safe penetrations through walls.

Emergency Pump-Out

If your tank is leaking or you have an oil spill, we can respond to pump out the tank and make the situation safe. What to do if your tank is leaking. Early action limits environmental damage and reduces clean-up costs significantly.

Boiler cutting out frequently • Visible rust or discolouration on the tank • Oil smell near the tank or pipework • Low fuel gauge readings that don't match expected consumption • Sludge in the fuel filter

Why Regular Maintenance Matters

Oil tank maintenance is often overlooked until something goes wrong. A well-maintained tank and pipeline system will last significantly longer, reduce the risk of heating failure at the worst possible time, and keep your insurance valid. Many home insurance policies require oil tanks to be in good condition and properly maintained.

We recommend a visual inspection of your tank and pipework annually, and a full internal inspection every 5 years for plastic tanks and every 2–3 years for steel tanks.

We cover maintenance work across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex – including Ipswich, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester, Norwich, Diss, Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Newmarket and surrounding villages.
